Summer in the great northeast is full of opportunities for outdoor play and recreation.  Northeast Pennsylvania offers some of the best recreational backpacking to be found in the mid Atlantic region.  From Pennsylvania’s vast amounts of state parks to rolling logging roads and long forgotten trails - this is the place to backpack.  Along with utilizing PA’s abundant resources we also frequently trip to the Catskill Region of lower New York State where the scenery is just as spectacular and offers a hole new set of challenges.

Northeast Sports knows the area and knows it well.  Our staff loves to backpack and we know all of the best places intimately and we love to share our knowledge and experience with everyone.  Our guides are wilderness first aid  certified – safety in the woods is our first priority. 

We have something to offer every individual or group.  Whether you and your group would prefer a leisurely day hike on a well maintained, wide trail or a strenuous multi day trek in the mountains with plenty of elevation change we can accommodate!  All of trips have one major element in common – spectacular scenery.  Mountains, foliage, eagles and other wildlife are all part of the experience of hiking in northeast PA.

Northeast Sports has all the best gear too.  Our rental equipment is all high end gear to make certain that you have a great time without having to worry about your gear.  We can provide tents, backpacks, H2O purification, sleeping bags, etc. – just let us know what you need. We can also provide all of your eating and food preparation needs.  So - if your idea of a day in the woods is nothing more than strapping on a day pack and heading off  we’ve got you covered!
